DJ Home Movies Like a Sega MegaDrive broke a mirror after an endless night of demonic thoughts and gone off the deep end and on a coke-fueled quest to exorcise itself. "Rites of Dacia" is as possessed as it gets; supernaturally charged, meticulously yet unerringly rhythmic, rough and pleasurable texture like coarse satin, all the while being coated slowly by the ashy blizzard... Favorite track: Rites of Dacia.

about

Sister City, the group comprising Dean Grenier, Eprom and Hej Fund, step to the altar with Rites Of Dacia. As the third release on their Sister City Limited imprint and their first as a trio, this 3-track EP is constructed from days upon days of live hardware recording sessions buried in various studio bunkers up and down the west coast. The title track is the opening statement, featuring driving, distorted drums that seamlessly navigate their way through rough air, only to find themselves alive after splashdown in the waters of a lost city. “Suprematizm” is next, and is the closest thing resembling a club track on the release, yet still retains enough protruding rebar around the fringes to feel cold and sharp. Closing track “Dust Meridian” ties up the EP with anxiety, a beatless unfolding of energy in the form of nervous, filtered bass and strings that seal the envelope with a black wax stamp.
